Historic Flags of George Washington
Counted Cross Stitch Kit
The two flags in this kit were closely associated with General George Washington as he led the Continental Army in its struggle to win independence and liberty, and to create the new American nation. The design for the colonial flag is based on a Congressional resolution that declared the flag be "13 stripes alternate red and white, and the Union be 13 stars white in a blue field representing a new constellation." The nearly square blue flag with 13 six-pointed stars was General Washington's personal standard during the Revolutionary War (1775-1783). It symbolized the presence and authority of Washington as Commander-in-Chief. |
Finished size 5½" by 9½" on 18 count Charles Craft fabric. Kit includes material, DMC floss, needle, instructions, and color photograph of finished project. Designed by Barbara Bangser for The Posy Collection.
