Monticello
Charlottesville, VA
ABC Monticello
Counted Cross Stitch Kit
| In days gone by, young girls stitched samplers to practice and to display their embroidery skills. The ABC border of this kit is reminiscent of this sampler heritage. Few houses in America more accurately reflect the personality of their owners than does Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Its design, construction, and remodeling, for which he determined virtually every detail, extended over forty years, beginning in 1768. The house reflects Jefferson's preference for the classical Palladian style of architecture over the then-popular Georgian style. |
Finished size: 4½" by 2½" on 18 count Charles Craft fabric. Kit includes material, DMC floss, needle, instructions, and color photograph of finished project. Designed by Barbara Bangser for The Posy Collection.
