| Devils Tower is our nation's first national monument. It was established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt under the Antiquities Act. The tower stands 865 feet tall. It is a world-class climbing area, a sacred site for several Native American tribes, and a must-see for half a million visitors each year. The park is a haven for many species of wildlife, the most famous being the colony of black-tailed prairie dogs. |
