Bison Sampler
Stamped-on Cross Stitch Kit
In days gone by, young girls stitched samplers to practice and to display their embroidery skills. Today, samplers are being revived as a reminder of the rich heritage of our past. The buffalo, more correctly called the American bison, was a principal source of food and shelter for the Native Americans living on the Great Plains. The arrival of the settlers was the beginning of the devastation of the great bison herds. As a result of game laws and other protective measures, the number of bison has increased to more than 250 thousand today.

Finished size: 4 ¾" by 6 ½" on old-fashioned muslin. Kit includes muslin with stamped-on cross stitch pattern, embroidery hoop, DMC floss, needle, instructions, and color photograph of finished project. Designed by Barbara Bangser for The Posy Collection.
